Caroline and Nicholas
July 2018 | Naoshima, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan
Naoshima Island is an incredibly special part of the world. Developed in 1985, the island brings together contemporary art and architecture, and its stunning natural surroundings in perfect harmony. The work of Tadao Ando, the architect responsible for developing many of the stunning buildings on the island, inspired the wedding design of Caroline and Nicholas's one-of-a-kind wedding invitation suite.
We hand-poured concrete bento boxes — which could be used in guests’ homes after the wedding — to house invitations printed on the thickest cotton stock. We were honored to travel to Japan to hand deliver many of the day-of pieces made from acrylic, concrete, paper, and wood.
